8 reasons why it's a good idea to stick to your guns and use your own coffee cart

One of the questions that I commonly get asked is can you get into the Melbourne Convention Exhibition Centre (MCEC)?

The short answer is yes, we’re always there.

The MCEC has an onsite contracted company that have equipment stored on site as well as a team of full-timers that can provide a coffee cart or a setup for a custom built trade stand. 

Here are 8 reasons why I think you should stick to your guns and use an external coffee cart company like us:

  1. We work closely with you from the point of engagement to ensure your stand is amazing. Based on experience we talk you through what you’ll need from us and what we’ll need from you to make the event a success.
  2. Our guys are people types. We hold a conversation. We engage with delegates and your reps. We remember names, orders, where they’re from, and make genuine connections. We’re not robots taking orders.
  3. Our equipment for the most part is brand new. Our machines have no branding on them other than yours or your clients’. I’m of the opinion that if you are paying the bill, we do what you want.
  4. We take on the responsibility of managing not only the coffee cart, but everyone on and around the stand. We’re there to help.
  5. We’ve done this many times over. Some of the best trade stand builders will only use Coffee On Cue (or our partner company Cafe In a Box) due to our level of service.
  6. We’re flexible. We know that there are many factors that can contribute to a build. If we’re told we’re bumping in at 12pm the day prior and we’re a little held up we get it.
  7. The MCEC has a fee they charge if our services are engaged. It’s a loss of revenue fee—even with it factored into the overall cost we’re still cheaper than the MCEC contracted company.
  8. Finally and most importantly, in every multi-day conference where there are multiple coffee carts, the queues are always the longest at ours. That’s why once people hire us, they have us back for every show they do.

I’m not in the business of negativity. I’m a positive guy; I believe in the product and service that my team delivers. It’s the reason we’ve been able to build and retain such a long list of clients from finance, IT and medical (the top end of town really).
